Week 23 – May 31, 2026 through June 6, 2026
This Week:
Brothers,
As we step into week 23, it is good to remember that following Jesus was never meant to stop with us. The Lord calls us not only to receive truth but to entrust it “to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2, ESV). In a world that disciples us in a hundred shallow directions, Christ invites us into something deeper and longer lasting, a quiet legacy of investing His Word into real people, face to face and week by week.
This year’s focus on renewing the mind reminds us that disciple‑making is not just a program, it is a way of thinking. Renewed minds see their schedule, their conversations, and their relationships through the lens of eternity, asking, “Who is my Timothy, and how can I build him up in Christ this week?” Whether you feel like a seasoned believer or a man still finding his footing, the same grace that saved you is the grace that equips you to pour into another man’s life.
Lord, help me to entrust what I have learned to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:2)
2 Timothy 2:2 “…and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
Following Christ implies making disciples. Who is the “Timothy” in your life that you are pouring into?
“You teach what you know, but you reproduce who you are.”

Spiritual Mentoring: A Guide for Seeking and Giving Direction by Keith R. Anderson and Randy D. Reese
Many men long for deeper growth but feel stuck between busy schedules, shallow relationships, and vague ideas of “discipleship.” Spiritual Mentoring: A Guide for Seeking and Giving Direction gives a simple, biblical vision: find one or two brothers, walk honestly together, and learn to follow Christ in real life, not just in theory.
Anderson and Reese show that Christian faith has always grown best through imitation—ordinary believers watching and walking with others who are learning to follow Jesus. They emphasize that mentoring is not for “super‑Christians,” but for any man willing to be honest about his story and pay attention to what God is already doing. The book explains how to start a mentoring friendship, build trust, ask better questions, and practice grace‑filled accountability that moves you from good intentions to real change.
What makes the book especially helpful for men is its realism. It doesn’t offer clichés or quick fixes; instead, it teaches you how to listen, how to read your own life, and how to help another man do the same in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Along the way, the authors introduce classic Christian voices from church history who show what long‑term growth actually looks like.
If you’ve ever thought, “I know I should invest in other men, but I don’t know where to start,” this book will give you vision and practical steps. And if you’re weary or drifting and need guidance yourself, it will help you seek out the kind of relationship God often uses to change a man’s life.
