This Week:
Brothers,
We’ve made it to the halfway point of the year. That in itself is a gift of God’s kindness. As you think back over the last six months, you may see some clear moments of growth and also some places where you feel stuck or even sliding backward. Yet the same Lord who called you to follow Him in January is the One who holds you today, and His mercy has not run out.
This week’s focus is simple and weighty: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15, ESV) Joshua put a stake in the ground in front of his people. He looked back at all God had done, looked forward to an unknown future, and then declared whom he and his household would belong to. At the halfway mark of 2026, this is a good moment for each of us to quietly do the same in our own hearts, homes, and habits.
As we continue in this year’s focus to renew the mind, take a few minutes to look over your shoulder at the road behind you. Where has your “following” become closer and more faithful since January? Where have you drifted or grown dull? Bring both the growth and the gaps honestly to the Lord. He is not surprised by either, and in Christ He stands ready not only to forgive but to reshape the way you think, love, and serve in the second half of the year.
Prayer:
Father, I commit to serve You; as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)
Joshua 24:15 “And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
