Week 19 – May 3, 2026 through May 9, 2026.
Brothers,
Some weeks the Christian life feels quiet and behind the scenes, but this week’s focus reminds us that following Jesus is anything but silent. Paul asked the church to pray “that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel” and to do so “that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak” Ephesians 6:19–20} (ESV). The same Spirit who strengthened Paul lives in you, and He has placed you among people who will not hear good news unless someone actually opens his mouth.
As we keep leaning into this year’s theme of renewing the mind, remember that a renewed mind doesn’t just think differently, it speaks differently. It sees neighbors, coworkers, and even family members not as interruptions but as souls who need Christ, and it begins to pray for courage instead of comfort. This week, ask the Lord to reshape the way you think about your conversations, so that boldness flows less from personality and more from confidence in the power of the gospel.
Lord, give me boldness to declare the mystery of the gospel as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:19-20)
Ephesians 6:19-20 – and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
Following Christ involves speaking of Him. Who in your circle needs to hear the gospel, and what fear is stopping you from sharing it?
Paul does not ask the Ephesians to pray for his release or comfort, but for boldness; this reorders our priorities in prayer from personal ease to faithfulness in proclaiming Christ whatever the cost.

God Is God and You Are You: Finding Confidence for Sharing Our Faith – Thomas Davis
If you’ve ever felt like evangelism is for the guy who knows more theology, speaks more confidently, or has his life together better than you do, this book will set you free.
Thomas Davis cuts through the performance anxiety that paralyzes men when it comes to sharing their faith. Most of us imagine that effective witnesses are polished, articulate, and spiritually elite—everything we’re not after a long workday or when caught off guard by a coworker’s question. We assume we need different skills, better training, or to become someone else entirely before God can use us.
Davis destroys that lie with biblical truth: God deliberately chooses weak, insecure, and imperfect men to carry His gospel. When God recruited Moses for the ultimate evangelistic mission, He picked a murderer hiding in the desert who couldn’t speak well and didn’t want the job. God’s pattern hasn’t changed. He’s not waiting for you to get better—He’s ready to work through you right now, in your weakness.
This isn’t a book filled with scripts, techniques, or guilt trips. Instead, Davis anchors your confidence where it belongs: in God’s sovereignty, power, and compassion. You’ll learn that evangelism succeeds because God takes the initiative, not because you perform flawlessly. The gospel message doesn’t depend on your eloquence—it depends on God’s truth and His willingness to use ordinary men.
At 192 pages, it’s a quick read that delivers profound encouragement. If you’ve been silent about your faith because you feel inadequate, this book will remind you: God is God, you are you, and that’s exactly who He’s chosen to use.
Coram Deo,
GraceMen
