Week 25 – June 14, 2026 through June 20, 2026
This Week:
Brothers,
As we roll into week 27, we’re not just turning a page on the calendar, we’re turning a corner in focus. The first half of the year has been about learning what it really means to follow Christ in everyday life. Now the lens tightens: how does that following actually reshape the way we think, choose, and respond? This week’s prompt about presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice puts that question right at street level. A renewed mind doesn’t float in the clouds. It shows up in what we do with our time, our money, and our ambitions.
Paul writes, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1, ESV). A “living” sacrifice has a tendency to crawl off the altar, and the meditation asks the right probing question: what part of your life are you quietly trying to take back from God this week? Renewal starts right there. Not in a vague desire to “be better,” but in a concrete decision to stay surrendered where you are most tempted to pull away.
So as you read the prayer and meditation for this week, don’t rush past them like another inspirational quote. Let them help you name one specific area where you want your mind renewed and your body yielded. Maybe it’s how you spend your evenings, how you think about your career, or how you respond when you don’t get your way. Wherever it is, remember that this call to be a living sacrifice is grounded in mercy, not in guilt. You are responding to grace that is already yours in Christ.
Prayer:
Merciful Father, in view of Your mercies, I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. (Romans 12:1)
Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Meditation:
A “living” sacrifice tends to crawl off the altar. What part of your life (time, money, ambition) are you trying to take back from God?
Quote:
Dan Doriani
“Paul says, first of all, present your bodies as living sacrifices. I am so glad he says bodies, because that means our ordinary, embodied lives—what we do with our hands, eyes, and feet—are the place where true worship is lived out.
Events:

Book Recommendation:
Devoted to God: Blueprints for Sanctification by Sinclair Ferguson
Men should read Devoted to God: Blueprints for Sanctification because it offers a clear, robust vision of what mature Christian manhood actually is: wholehearted devotion to God shaped by Scripture, not by culture or mere activity. Ferguson builds a strong, reliable framework for practical Christian living by walking carefully through central New Testament passages on holiness, showing how union with Christ, spiritual conflict, and God’s law work together in the life of a believer.
In a world that prizes busyness and accomplishment, this book reorients men toward character—who God is making you—rather than simply what you do. Ferguson’s emphasis on renewing the mind, battling sin, and embracing the rhythms of spiritual growth will help men think more deeply about the gospel so they can live more faithfully in their homes, churches, and workplaces. Because it is rich in doctrine yet practical, Devoted to God serves as a long-term manual men can revisit as they pursue holiness, leadership, and stability in Christ.
